Cinnamon has long been used in the East for a variety of complaints including colds, flu, digestive problems, kidney troubles, poor circulation and rheumatism. Current in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia as a specific for flatulent colic and dyspepsia with nausea. Cinnamon Leaf (cinnamomum zeylanicum) is a warm oil which blends well with citrus oils, other spices, Benzoin, and Ylang Ylang.
Aromatherapy/Home Use example:
To lift your spirits if you are feeling under the weather, add 2 drop Cinnamon Leaf, 2 drops Ylang Ylang, and 2 drops Sweet Orange to 200ml water in a diffuser.
Safety: Cinnamon Bark oil is one of the most hazardous oils and should never be used on the skin as it is a dermal toxin, irritant and sensitizer. Leaf oil is relatively nontoxic, but should be used in moderation and in low doses. Possible irritant to sensitive or allergy-prone individuals.
