This is Eucalyptus 80/85, which refers to the rich eucalyptol content in the oil (80-85%). There are many hundreds of different types of Eucalyptus that contain high levels of eucalyptus, but eucalyptus globulus is the most popular. Other companies may supply an inferior quality of 70/75.
Eucalyptus is well-known for its penetrating aroma, and clearing and antiseptic properties. It can be effective in a steam inhalation to help congestion. Widely used for respiratory problems, as well as muscle-warming ointments.
Aromatherapy/Home Use example:
To ease a chesty cough, bronchitis, sinusitis, add 1 drop Eucalyptus, 1 drop Myrrh, and 1 drop Lavender Super (lavandin) to a bowl of hot water. Lean over the bowl with a towel covering your head and inhale the vapours for 5-10 minutes. Keep your eyes closed.
Alternatively, blend the same oils in 1:1:1 ratio in 5ml of Sweet Almond oil, and massage into chest and back.
Safety: Externally nontoxic, nonirritant (in dilution), nonsensitizing. Not compatible with homeopathic treatment. Eucalyptus is known to be fatal if taken internally.
