
Lavender Spike (lavandula latifolia) has a sharper and more herbal scent than True Lavender (angustifolia) Culpepper recommends Lavender Spike for "pains of the head and brain which proceed from cold, apoplexy, falling sickness, the dropsy, sluggish malady, cramps, convulsions, palsies, and faintings".
Aromatherapy/Home Use example:
To ease headaches/migraines, mix 1 drop Spike Lavender, 1 drop Peppermint/Spearmint, and 1 drop Sweet Marjoram to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and apply on back of neck, shoulders, and temples (avoid eyes and mucous membranes).
Safety: Nontoxic, nonirritant (in low doses), nonsensitizing. Use only in small amounts and diluted. Avoid if pregnant or suffering from epilepsy.
