Niaouli (melaleuca viridiflora) is a member of the Tea Tree family. It grows wild in New Caledonia and is popular for its antiseptic and bactericidal actions, for respiratory conditions, cuts and infections, and muscular aches and pains. It has a sweeter, softer aroma than Tea Tree.
Aromatherapy/Home Use example:
Where there are many people confined in a space (especially in central air-conditioned spaces) such as offices, schools, and airplanes, you'll notice people falling sick often. To cleanse and freshen the air, add 3 drops Niaouli, 3 drops Spearmint, and 3 drops Lavender Spike to 300ml water in a diffuser.
Safety: Nontoxic, nonirritant, nonsensitizing.
