There are 3 main types of Rosemary, the superior one for aromatherapy is the eucalyptol chemotype (cineol) from Tunisia, Morocco and Italy. (The verbenone chemotype is contraindicated due to its neuro toxicity). Absolute Aromas supplies the finest quality Tunisian Rosemary.
Rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis) is a stimulant and has been used for a wide range of complaints including mental fatigue, respiratory, circulatory and digestive disorders, liver congestion, muscular and rheumatic pain, skin and hair problems. It is current in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia as a specific for "depressive states with general debility and indications of cardiovascular weakness".
Aromatherapy/Home Use example:
To stimulate hair growth, try 2 drops Rosemary, 2 drops Lavender High Altitude, and 1 drop Chamomile (German/Roman) in 10ml Argan or Camellia carrier oil, and rub into scalp using fingertips. Leave on for at least 1-2 hours, or overnight if you prefer.
Safety: May be a skin irritant to hypersensitive and allergy-prone individuals. Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not for epileptics. Contraindicated in cases of high blood pressure and those with fever.
